Cobb County is located in northwestern Georgia. Its county seat is Marietta and it forms part of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area.
U.S. Representative, U.S. Senator and Supreme Court Judge Thomas Willis Cobb is this county´s namesake and nearby Marietta is named in honor of his wife.
Marietta Georgia covers quite a large area of Cobb Real Estate and to the locals is divided between East Cobb and West Cobb. East Cobb is well known for its excellent school system and offers all the conveniences of an in-town location. East Cobb Real Estate is fairly high end and this location is close to Roswell and Alpharetta. Marietta Georgia Real Estate resides in part in West Cobb County, as well. West Marietta is more rural, as a whole, and is sought after for those who like a little bit of space. West Cobb Real Estate also includes the cities of Acworth, Kennesaw and Powder Springs.

The creation of Cobb County came about on December 3, 1832. It played a major role during the civil war, having been the site of such famous battles as the Marietta Operations and the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain. General William Sherman´s troops also destroyed much of the manufacturing infrastructure of Cobb in 1864. Before leaving the area, General Sherman burned down most of Marietta on his storm to the Atlantic shores.
Though Cobb County suffered, perhaps, more than the rest of Georgia during the American Civil War, Cobb County bounced back by focusing more on manufacturing than farming. At the time, Cobb Real Estate was mostly rural farm residences.
No longer a bedroom community for nearby Atlanta, Cobb County is now a growing metropolis. A well-diversified manufacturing base and burgeoning services sector are helping this community provide jobs for its many residents.
Cobb County offers excellent schools, proximity to all the amenities of Atlanta including fine dining, retail shopping centers, business and employment opportunities as well as many recreational opportunities. The unemployment rate is lower than the state average and the projected future job growth is an impressive 24%.
